CELINE RUBEN-SALAMA

A business strategist with 15 years of experience focused on long-term value creation through innovation, risk reduction, efficiency, and long-term oriented sustainability planning, and implementation, Celine Ruben-Salama leads our network of consulting advisors. As American Express’ first Director of Sustainability/CSR, Celine was responsible for environmental affairs including strategy setting, implementation, and communications for the enterprise globally. Past advisory clients include Fortune 100 companies, global financial services companies, public sector institutions (NYSERDA, U.S. EPA), non-profit organizations/NGOs (SASB and the UN).

 

Celine teaches two classes in the MS Sustainability Management program at Columbia University: “Corporate Sustainability Reporting & Strategy” and “Consumerism & Sustainability.” To date, over 80 of her articles have appeared in publications such as: Consilience, the Journal of Sustainable Development; Yahoo Green; treehugger.com; Inhabitat.com; Ecogeek.org; and CSR Now!. She holds a Masters of Public Administration with a focus on Environmental Science and Policy (MPA ESP) from Columbia University School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA), an MBA in Marketing, and a BBA in Entrepreneurial Management from the Zicklin School of Business at Baruch College, CUNY, and is a Wallenberg Fellow.

             

WEI-LING (WINNIE) SUN

Winnie is a sustainability consultant, focusing on sustainability reporting and climate-risk financial analysis. Previously served at EY Transaction Advisory Services, she conducted business valuation on cross-border M&A and restructuring deals in renewable energy, finance, and technology industries. Her sustainability projects have included GRI/CDP reporting, life-cycle analysis, and climate-risk evaluation. Winnie holds a B.A. in Finance from National Central University and is currently a candidate for Master’s of Science in Sustainability Management at Columbia University.

DEBASMITA SARKAR

Debasmita is a sustainability professional focused on clean technology, carbon accounting, and energy management. Her experience ranges from technology development at one of the Big Four, to environmental impact assessments, metric measurement and reporting for a publishing house, and a wildlife conservation organization. Debasmita also has extensive program and project management experience through her work for an IoT and energy management firm where she worked very closely with utilities and residential customers. She holds a Master of Science degree in Sustainability Management from Columbia University and a Bachelor's degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Manipal University.

 

PAVAN RYALI

Pavan is a seasoned sustainability and energy management consultant and trainer with more than 9 years of international experience. He holds a Masters degree in Sustainability Management and a Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering. Pavan has conducted more than 50 detailed energy management studies for various industrial and commercial organizations operating in Thermal Power, Cement, Iron & Steel, Engineering, Real Estate, Data Center, Financial and Defense sectors. He is also a certified trainer for energy conservation awareness programs and has trained over 1000 engineers and managers. Pavan specializes in Energy & Environmental Assessments, Carbon Accounting, and Sustainability Reporting.

KEITH WONG

Keith’s recent advisory clients have included public and private apparel companies, municipal utilities and industrial bakeries. For these clients, he has analyzed human rights and labor assessments for their supply chains, performed analysis on environmental indicators including energy usage, GHG emission accounting, and solid waste. He has also advised on corporate self-assessments (B-Corporation, Fair Labor Association, Dow Jones Sustainability Index, etc.) Additionally, he is an adjunct lecturer at Bronx Community College, where he teaches the undergraduate class “Sustainability, Energy, and Green Economics”. Keith holds a Master’s of Science in Sustainability Management from Columbia University, an MBA with a dual concentration in Finance and Management from the Gabelli School of Business at Fordham University and a BS in Chemistry from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

KEVIN FERTIG

Kevin is focused on corporate sustainability, carbon accounting, environmental data management, and CSR disclosures. Previous environmental advisory engagements include the development of an ESG strategy for Avenida Capital (a Colombian private equity fund), and an impact assessment of the New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development (NYC HPD) green buildings program. His experience also includes work for the Clinton Foundation, the French Embassy in Washington D.C., and as a corporate legal assistant with Shearman & Sterling LLP’s in their Paris office. Kevin holds an M.P.A. in Environmental Science and Policy from Columbia's School of International & Public Affairs, a Certificate in Sustainability Analytics from Columbia's School of Professional Studies, and a B.A. in International Relations and Spanish & Latin American Studies from Duke University. He speaks English, French and Spanish fluently.
